What are Land Rover Software Updates?

Software updates keep your new or used Land Rover model up to date with everything it needs, and it can be done conveniently from your home, or bring it to us, our Master Certified Land Rover technicians would be more than happy to help.

The updates further optimize vehicle systems, such as maintaining or fixing the software in the Infotainment and Telematics Module, and, if you have an electric Land Rover, the Battery Energy Control Module.

To turn on notifications for software updates, go into the Settings menu within the Software Updates section. From this menu Richfield Land Rover owners can turn updates on and off, all you need to do is accept the terms and conditions to activate the feature.

How Land Rover Software Updates Work

To know your Land Rover has a software update ready enable software updates. From there a notification will pop-up on the infotainment system. You can also check for available updates through the Settings menu, within the Software Updates section.

To perform a successful update you’ll need to ensure you follow a few steps.

  • First successfully download the update to your vehicle.
  • Maintain Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity during the entire process.
  • Do not use your Land Rover vehicle for 35 minutes if you are updating the Telematics/Battery. Your vehicle will need to be locked and alarmed during the update also.
  • If you are updating your infotainment system, you can still drive but this system won’t be active until completion.
  • When updates are completed a notification will pop-up on your infotainment system to let you know your update has been successfully completed.
