How Does Adaptive Cruise Control Work?

1. When Adaptive Cruise Control is engaged, your vehicle’s speed gets automatically reduced if a slower moving vehicle is detected in front of you. 
2. The system uses its sensors to maintain a safe following distance to the vehicle that’s ahead of you.
3. If the system detects that the slower-moving vehicle is no longer present, it automatically raises your speed back up to the original set cruise control speed.

How to Deactivate Adaptive Cruise Control

The Adaptive Cruise Control automatically deactivates in certain scenarios but retains the memory of its most recent settings. Below are several reasons why the system would deactivate while you’re driving on the roads in the Eden Prairie area:

• The CAN button on the steering wheel is pressed
• The brake pedal is pressed.
• All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) is selected.

3. When the vehicle in front of you starts moving forward again, tap the accelerator pedal and the system will keep maintaining a safe following distance.
4. You can adjust the following distance on your steering wheel-mounted controls.
