When it comes to premium off-roading SUVs, the Range Rover has led the pack for quite some time. More information has yet to be released about the new Toyota Land Cruiser, but we have enough information to give you an idea of how it measures up against the one-and-only Range Rover on Minneapolis roads. How do the Range Rover and Land Cruiser differ from each other in their engines and performance? The Land Cruiser is only available with an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, which pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery producing a maximum of 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Every Land Cruiser comes standard with a four-wheel drive system and can tow a maximum of 6,000 pounds.
On the other hand, the Range Rover has multiple engine options (four in total), including traditional gasoline-powered engines, to a plug-in hybrid powertrain:
All-wheel drive is standard across the board. No matter which Range Rover engine option you opt for, you will be able to tow a maximum of 8,200 pounds to your next destination from St. Paul. That’s enough to tow a large pop-up trailer, a mid-size boat, and more!
Another factor to consider when choosing Range Rover or Land Cruiser is their different seating configurations. While there are three Land Cruiser trims, 1958, Land Cruiser, and Limited Edition, seating is the same across the board. All in all, the Land Cruiser can only host up to five passengers.
Whether you’re looking to treat your Edina with a Range Rover with three rows of seating, or you’re a busy individual looking for an upscale daily driver, the Range Rover configurations are sure to have the seating arrangements you seek. The different ways you can configure your Range Rover are as follows:
