Range Rover or Land Cruiser: Engine Specs

How do the Range Rover and Land Cruiser differ from each other in their engines and performance? The Land Cruiser is only available with an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, which pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery producing a maximum of 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Every Land Cruiser comes standard with a four-wheel drive system and can tow a maximum of 6,000 pounds. 

On the other hand, the Range Rover has multiple engine options (four in total), including traditional gasoline-powered engines, to a plug-in hybrid powertrain:

• 395 hp 3.0L I6 Turbocharged MHEV w/ 406 lb-ft of torque
• 523 hp 4.4L V8 Twin Turbocharged w/ 553 lb-ft of torque
• 542 hp 3.0L I6 Turbocharged PHEV w/ 590 lb-ft of torque
• 606 hp 4.4L V8 Twin Turbocharged w/ 553 lb-ft of torque

All-wheel drive is standard across the board. No matter which Range Rover engine option you opt for, you will be able to tow a maximum of 8,200 pounds to your next destination from St. Paul. That’s enough to tow a large pop-up trailer, a mid-size boat, and more!

Range Rover or Land Cruiser: Seating Configurations

Another factor to consider when choosing Range Rover or Land Cruiser is their different seating configurations. While there are three Land Cruiser trims, 1958, Land Cruiser, and Limited Edition, seating is the same across the board. All in all, the Land Cruiser can only host up to five passengers.
